Alliance Kindergarten

Alliance Kindergarten is a non-profit-making kindergarten in Kowloon City, founded in 1959 and offering a local curriculum. With reference to Education Bureau curriculum guidance, the school plans diversified learning activities around children's developmental needs, interests and abilities, and follows a Christian whole-person education direction. Integrated teaching uses life-related themes, whole-class, small-group and individual activities, plus site visits, to broaden children's experience and encourage initiative. Children's learning is assessed through continuous observation, thematic development scales, photos, written records and termly learning portfolios. Support includes parent meetings, adaptation activities, communication with families, referral services, educational psychology advice and primary school transition activities.

School Mission, Curriculum & Teaching Capacity

Mission: The school aims to cultivate positive values and foster them to become children that are happy, confident, respectful and grateful and nurture the children to attain balanced development in the domains of spiritual education, ethics, intellect, physique, social skills, aesthetics.

Curriculum: The kindergarten offers a local curriculum that is child-centred and aligned with children's development, supports holistic development, and incorporates music, arts and physical activities. Learning is supported through thematic teaching, group and small-group activities, and outdoor activities, visits and field trips. Children's progress is assessed through ongoing observation, theme or unit assessments, learning portfolios, and progress reports.

Support to Students: The kindergarten supports children through gradual adaptation or orientation activities for new children, Primary One transition preparation, mock activities or school visits, social worker, counselling or referral services, and health, safety and emotional care. It maintains close home-school partnership through class observations, open days or school visits, parenting seminars, talks and workshops, parent-child activities, outings and school events, and parent volunteer teams, groups or associations.
