Creative Kindergarten

Creative Kindergarten is a non-profit-making kindergarten in Kowloon City, founded in 1984 and offering local and non-local curriculum streams. The school provides a developmentally appropriate programme that aims to nurture a loving heart, cultivate the mind, develop children's potential and promote creativity. Teaching uses theme-based and inquiry-based learning, small groups, language experiences, STEM, art, music, physical education, free choice learning corners and free play areas. The curriculum supports joyful learning and prepares children for both local and international primary school pathways. Assessment is recorded through portfolios that show children's growth, learning success, higher-order thinking, creativity and reflection. Support includes adaptation, parent education and primary application guidance.

School Mission, Curriculum & Teaching Capacity

Mission: The school aims to provide a safe, caring and joyful learning environment, nurture good character and positive values, prepare children for lifelong learning and future growth, and develop responsible citizens with a broad outlook.

Curriculum: The kindergarten offers a local curriculum that organizes learning around life-related themes, develops creativity, thinking and problem-solving skills, builds independence, confidence and self-care, and includes STEAM and scientific exploration. Learning is supported through inquiry-based learning, thematic teaching, play-based exploration, and group and small-group activities. Children's progress is assessed through learning portfolios.

Support to Students: The kindergarten supports children through gradual adaptation or orientation activities for new children, Primary One transition preparation, mock activities or school visits, social worker, counselling or referral services, and professional support for children with diverse learning or developmental needs. It maintains close home-school partnership through meetings, parent days and individual interviews, class observations, open days or school visits, parenting seminars, talks and workshops, parent-child activities, outings and school events, and newsletters, surveys, home visits or resource sharing.
