Guideposts Kindergarten

Guideposts Kindergarten is a non-profit-making kindergarten in Sham Shui Po, founded in 1976 and offering a local curriculum. School Mission, Curriculum & Teaching Capacity

Mission: Guided by Christian values, the school aims to provide a safe, caring and joyful learning environment, support children's holistic development, prepare children for lifelong learning and future growth, and develop responsible citizens with a broad outlook.

Curriculum: The kindergarten offers a local curriculum that follows the Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide, is child-centred and aligned with children's development, organizes learning around life-related themes, and encourages exploration and hands-on learning. Learning is supported through thematic teaching, play-based exploration, group and small-group activities, and role play and creative expression. Children's progress is assessed through ongoing observation and parent-teacher communication.

Support to Students: The kindergarten supports children through gradual adaptation or orientation activities for new children, Primary One transition preparation, mock activities or school visits, social worker, counselling or referral services, individual observation, assessment and guidance, and enrichment, interest-class and life-wide learning opportunities. It maintains close home-school partnership through class observations, open days or school visits, parenting seminars, talks and workshops, parent-child activities, outings and school events, and parent volunteer teams, groups or associations.
