Moon Lok Kindergarten

Moon Lok Kindergarten is a non-profit-making kindergarten in Tsuen Wan, founded in 1965 and offering a local curriculum. The school plans comprehensive, balanced and interesting learning activities according to Education Bureau guidance, children's physical and mental development and life experiences. Child-centred teaching uses activity approach, small-group thematic teaching, project-based learning and science inquiry, with outdoor play, music, art, computer games, news sharing, visits, religious activities and assemblies. Children are encouraged to share, collaborate, think and explore while developing multiple intelligences, self-care, living habits, positive attitudes and learning interest. Ongoing theme assessment and summative term assessment are collected in portfolios. With Christ's love, the school supports happy, confident and active learning.

School Mission, Curriculum & Teaching Capacity

Mission: Guided by Christian values, the school aims to provide a safe, caring and joyful learning environment, support children's holistic development, use play and life-wide experiences to enrich learning, inspire curiosity, creativity and active learning, and build confidence, independence and self-care.

Curriculum: The kindergarten offers a local curriculum that follows the Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide, is child-centred and aligned with children's development, organizes learning around life-related themes, and supports holistic development. Learning is supported through thematic teaching, project inquiry, play-based exploration, and group and small-group activities. Children's progress is assessed through continuous assessment, theme or unit assessments, learning portfolios, and progress reports.

Support to Students: The kindergarten supports children through gradual adaptation or orientation activities for new children, Primary One transition preparation, mock activities or school visits, and health, safety and emotional care. It maintains close home-school partnership through class observations, open days or school visits, parenting seminars, talks and workshops, and parent volunteer teams, groups or associations.
