Italian International Kindergarten is a non-profit-making kindergarten in the Southern District, founded in 2019 and offering a non-local curriculum. The school offers two bilingual streams: Italian and English with Chinese and Chinese culture, and Chinese and English with Italian and Italian culture. Its educational philosophy is rooted in the Reggio Children Approach and traditional Italian educational thinking, while also encouraging research, innovation, neuroscience and experimentation in early childhood pedagogy. Teaching values children's different cultures and languages, promotes literacy through varied media, supports interdisciplinary study skills and encourages adaptability, bilingualism and curiosity. Ongoing observation, records, analysis and student portfolios are used to review children's learning and development.

School Mission, Curriculum & Teaching Capacity

Mission: The school aims to prepare children for lifelong learning and future growth, develop responsible citizens with a broad outlook, and draw on the Reggio Emilia approach.

Curriculum: The kindergarten offers a bilingual non-local curriculum that strengthens language development and introduces Chinese culture and international education. Learning is supported through bilingual English and Chinese experiences. Children's progress is assessed through ongoing observation and learning portfolios.

Support to Students: The kindergarten supports children through gradual adaptation or orientation activities for new children and Primary One transition preparation, mock activities or school visits. It maintains close home-school partnership through notices, handbooks, digital platforms and direct teacher contact, parenting seminars, talks and workshops, parent-child activities, outings and school events, and newsletters, surveys, home visits or resource sharing.
