Sun Island English Kindergarten (Lok Man)

Sun Island English Kindergarten (Lok Man) is a non-profit-making kindergarten in Kowloon City, founded in 2016 and offering a local curriculum. Mission: The school aims to provide a safe, caring and joyful learning environment, build confidence, independence and self-care, and prepare children for lifelong learning and future growth.

Curriculum: The kindergarten offers a local curriculum that follows the Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide, organizes learning around life-related themes, supports holistic development, and strengthens language development. Learning is supported through group and small-group activities, storytelling and picture books, outdoor activities, visits and field trips, and music, movement, art and physical activities. Children's progress is assessed through ongoing observation, learning portfolios, progress reports, and parent-teacher communication.

Support to Students: The kindergarten supports children through gradual adaptation or orientation activities for new children, Primary One transition preparation, mock activities or school visits, and social worker, counselling or referral services. It maintains close home-school partnership through notices, handbooks, digital platforms and direct teacher contact, meetings, parent days and individual interviews, parenting seminars, talks and workshops, parent-child activities, outings and school events, and parent volunteer teams, groups or associations.
