School Mission, Curriculum & Teaching Capacity
Mission: The school aims to yCIS nurtures students in a multicultural and immersive bilingual environment which supports well-rounded development and character formation, in our ECE programme, it's imperative that our students view themselves as competent learners and know that they are valued, and welcome families' interest in their children's learning journey, and we encourage their active involvement on campus and in our school community.
Curriculum: The kindergarten offers a non-local curriculum that emphasizes learning through play, develops creativity, thinking and problem-solving skills, strengthens language development, and incorporates music, arts and physical activities. Learning is supported through play-based exploration, music, movement, art and physical activities, bilingual English and Chinese experiences, and individual guidance and differentiated support. Children's progress is assessed through ongoing observation.
Support to Students: The kindergarten supports children through individual observation, assessment and guidance. It maintains close home-school partnership through meetings, parent days and individual interviews, parenting seminars, talks and workshops, and parent volunteer teams, groups or associations.
