HHCKLA Buddhist Ching Kok Secondary School is a Buddhist co-educational aided secondary school in Tiu Keng Leng, founded in 2003 by Heung Hoi Ching Kok Lin Association. Guided by the motto Enlightenment, Nobility, Virtue and Righteousness, the school blends Buddhist values with a modern secondary curriculum. Its Chui Ling Road campus emphasizes moral cultivation, student support, STEAM learning, arts, service and balanced growth for Tseung Kwan O students.

Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

Chinese is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: The school adopts Chinese as the medium of instruction to facilitate students' learning. With the implementation of the fine-tuning of Medium of Instruction, the school makes use of a proportion of lesson time to conduct extended learning activities in English in different subjects in junior forms. Some specific units and themes are taught in English.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). This is an aided school, the most common type of secondary school in Hong Kong. Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. By comparison, around 12% are DSS schools, 6% are government schools, and 5% are private schools. Only DSS and private schools generally charge school fees.
