St. Rose of Lima's College is a Catholic girls' aided secondary school in Sha Tin, founded in 1948 by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. Its motto, Through Charity to Truth, or Per Caritatem Ad Veritatem, reflects a Franciscan commitment to love, truth and service. The school provides Catholic girls' education with emphasis on spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical growth, moral values, academic learning and community service.

Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: The schooladopts English as the major medium of instruction. We stress the importance of training students to be bi-literate and tri-lingual.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). School Fees

This is an aided school, the most common type of secondary school in Hong Kong. Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. By comparison, around 12% are DSS schools, 6% are government schools, and 5% are private schools. Only DSS and private schools generally charge school fees.
