Kwok Tak Seng Catholic Secondary School is a Catholic co-educational EMI aided secondary school in Sha Tin, founded in 1987 and named after philanthropist Kwok Tak Seng. Guided by the motto Faithfulness, Forgiveness, Sincerity and Intelligence, the school follows Catholic diocesan education goals and Chinese virtues. It emphasizes gospel values, academic learning, English-medium education, service, student leadership and a caring whole-person education environment.

Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: The schooladopts English as the main medium of instruction. Activities such as morning assemblies and prayers are conducted in English and Putonghua to increase the usage of different languages on campus. Lessons are conducted in Chinese in some subjects, such as Religion and Ethics and Other Learning Experience so as to help students develop their positive values and generic skills.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). This is an aided school, the most common type of secondary school in Hong Kong. Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. The school is well equipped with 26 classrooms, Art Room, Conference Room, INNO-master Room, Meta: LAB, Home Economics/Needlework Room, Information Technology Rooms, Library, Multi media Language Center, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Integrated Science Laboratories, Student Activities Center, Fitness Room and School Hall, all fully air conditioned with multi-media facilities. Different classrooms are also equipped with devices such as advanced E-blackboard. The school has 2 basketball-courts and a large multi-purpose area, the roof garden.
