Medium of Instruction & Curriculum
Chinese is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).
Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.
Teaching Language Policy: Some students in the junior forms use English to learn Mathematics in order to enhance their proficiency in two languages and trilingualism. In addition, a Pilot Scheme on Other Languages for Junior Secondary Students is offered-French and Japanese courses-to enhance students' language abilities. Besides formal teaching and learning, various activities have been implemented to raise students' language standard in English, Chinese and Putonghua, such as the extensive reading scheme, Chinese Week, English Week, French-Chinese Students Exchange Programme and Speech Festival. Apart from the formal curriculum, the school also provides English immersion programmes, English drama and Cambridge English courses.
Secondary One Admission
The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). The table below summarises past years’ allocation figures, including DP places, Central Allocation Part A and Part B places, reserved places, and total places.
| Year | DP | CA:A | CA:B | Resv | Total |

School Fees
This is an aided school, the most common type of secondary school in Hong Kong. Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. By comparison, around 12% are DSS schools, 6% are government schools, and 5% are private schools. Only DSS and private schools generally charge school fees.
