Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

Chinese is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: Emphasize students' biliterate and trilingual abilities by arranging appropriate teaching activities across subjects and groups to enhance language skills and adequately prepare for future academic pursuits and employment. Make slight adjustments to the medium of instruction in junior forms, with different subjects implementing extended learning activities in English to boost students' confidence and interest in using English. Collaborate between the English department and other subjects to jointly create an English learning environment that reinforces students' language foundations.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). The table below summarises past years’ allocation figures, including DP places, Central Allocation Part A and Part B places, reserved places, and total places.
