Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: The schoolhas adopted English as the medium of instruction in all subjects except Chinese subjects. For details, please refer to the subject offered in the 2025/26 school year. We strive to enable our students to become biliterate and trilingual. Students are encouraged to take part in various forms of internal and external language-related activities.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). The table below summarises past years’ allocation figures, including DP places, Central Allocation Part A and Part B places, reserved places, and total places.

Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. By comparison, around 12% are DSS schools, 6% are government schools, and 5% are private schools. Only DSS and private schools generally charge school fees.

School Mission & Governance

Our school upholds the five core values of Catholic Education - Truth, Justice, Love, Life, and Family, following the Preventive Education Philosophy of St. Don Bosco based on Reason, Religion and Loving-kindness. We appeal to nurture students in the spirit of Christian faith and fill their hearts with our love and care. They are also cultivated to be youths of purity and charity. Through participation in our multifarious academic and non-academic activities as well as other learning experiences, our students learn to be knowledgeable, proactive, righteous and civic-minded.
