Shun Lee Catholic Secondary School is a Catholic co-educational aided secondary school in Shun Lee Estate, founded in 1982 by the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong. Its Latin motto Sic Deo Placet, meaning So it pleases God, expresses its Catholic mission. Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: To prepare our students for tertiary education and better career opportunities, the school adopts English as the medium of instruction in all subjects and all classes except Religious Education, Citizenship and Social Development, Extended Curriculum and Physical Education. The schoolalso provides an authentic and language-rich environment for students to enhance their language proficiency.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). This is an aided school, the most common type of secondary school in Hong Kong. Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. By comparison, around 12% are DSS schools, 6% are government schools, and 5% are private schools. Only DSS and private schools generally charge school fees.

School Facilities

The school provides an environment conducive for learning and enables students to develop their potential. School facilities including Interactive Learning Centre, iSpace Learning Studio, Innovation Lab, STEAM Learning Centre, Computer room, library and study rooms are provided. To foster the development in e-Learning and self-regulated learning, all classrooms are upgraded to Future Classrooms and installed with the 86-inch interactive touch panel to enhance teacher-student interactions in lessons, which enhances the effectiveness of learning and teaching.
