St. Paul's School (Lam Tin) is a Catholic girls' aided secondary school founded in 1970 by the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres. Its Latin motto Omnia omnibus, meaning All things to all people, reflects the Paulinian spirit of service. Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: English is used as the medium of instruction in most of the subjects in the school. Equal emphasis is also placed on the learning of Chinese and Putonghua to help our student be biliterate and trilingual.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). This is an aided school, the most common type of secondary school in Hong Kong. Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. By comparison, around 12% are DSS schools, 6% are government schools, and 5% are private schools. Only DSS and private schools generally charge school fees.

School Facilities

The school has various facilities, such as sport climbing wall, Student Activity Centre, Campus TV, e-Learning Centre, library and so on. Classrooms and special rooms are each equipped with a computer, projector and visualizer. With the support from the Quality Education Fund, the new multi-media learning centre has been completed in 2022 for enriching and enhancing students’ learning in STEAM education; while a Spiritual Corner and Spiritual Promenade have been also completed in the same year to provide a green space and quiet zone for spiritual and mental well-being.
