Tai Po Sam Yuk Secondary School is a co-educational DSS Christian school founded in 1956 and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist School Organization. As part of the Adventist education tradition, it promotes balanced development of spirit, mind and body. Medium of Instruction & Curriculum

English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).

Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

Teaching Language Policy: We use English as the main medium of instruction and create a progressive English learning environment with a curriculum designed to match the proficiency level of each class.

Secondary One Admission

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). The school’s broadband has been upgraded to 1000GHz, which greatly benefits e-Learning on the campus. All classrooms have been equipped with 86-inch interactive touch screen displays. The Library has an extensive collection of about 35000 titles in English and Chinese, 4000 e-books and audio-visual materials, and provides 24-hour online book search and reservation services. All classrooms are equipped with split-type air conditioners, landline and wireless Internet access, and visualizers. Facilities in the school include a Fitness Room, a spacious Hall, a Science laboratory, a Design Room, a Multi-Media Learning Centre, an Art and Design Room, a Campus TV station, 4 Science laboratories, 2 Computer rooms, a Music room, a Home Economics room, a Visual Arts room, a Youth Centre, a Multi-purpose room, and an elevator.
