Medium of Instruction & Curriculum
English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).
Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.
Teaching Language Policy: The school aims to enhance students' lifelong learning skills by developing proficiency in biliteracy and trilingualism. English is used as the medium of instruction in all forms and all subjects except Chinese Language, Chinese History, Chinese Literature, Putonghua, Citizenship, Economics and Society, Citizenship and Social Development, Physical Education and Ethics & Religious Studies. A diverse range of English activities are provided to enhance students' English proficiency; school functions are also conducted in English to cultivate an English-rich learning environment.
Secondary One Admission
The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). The table below summarises past years’ allocation figures, including DP places, Central Allocation Part A and Part B places, reserved places, and total places.
| Year | DP | CA:A | CA:B | Resv | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 40 | 8 | 76 | 8 | 132 |

School Fees
This is an aided school, the most common type of secondary school in Hong Kong. Aided schools account for approximately 76% of all secondary schools and receive government funding to provide free secondary education. No school fee is charged. By comparison, around 12% are DSS schools, 6% are government schools, and 5% are private schools. Only DSS and private schools generally charge school fees.
