Medium of Instruction & Curriculum
English is the primary Medium of Instruction (MOI).
Curriculum: Secondary education comprises three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary education leading to the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.
Teaching Language Policy: English is adopted as the medium of instruction in major subjects across all forms. The Chinese Language curriculum aims to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of Chinese Culture. Putonghua and Literature in English are set as an independent subject in S.1 and S.3 respectively; this is to improve students' biliteracy and trilingualism. The schoolorganizes programmes such as culture tours to Mainland and overseas study tours. Furthermore, the school encourages students to participate in the Hong Kong Speech Festival, inter-school debating competitions and various language-related activities.
Secondary One Admission
The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System is Hong Kong's official mechanism for distributing subsidized Secondary One places to primary school graduates. The allocation operates in two distinct, consecutive phases. First, the Discretionary Places (DP) stage allows students to apply directly to individual schools based on academic and interview merits. Second, remaining places are funneled into the Central Allocation (CA) stage, which is subdivided into Part A (unrestricted, territory-wide choices) and Part B (restricted, district-based choices). The table below summarises past years’ allocation figures, including DP places, Central Allocation Part A and Part B places, reserved places, and total places.
